Tilnik Farm is a Luxury farmhouse apartment situated in the Porezon Mountains of Slovenia. Surrounded by wild hay meadows, fruit trees and forests, with a stream flowing through the middle, the farm is ideal for both summer and winter holiday makers.
The Farm is run by Brett and Kate Bedford and their two dogs Lupa and Rubie. They re-located to Slovenia in 2005. They bought the main farmhouse of the village, a typical Slovene stone building (for curing salamis and prosciutt), large barn, and 13 hectares of fruit trees, grassland and forest.
The overall aim is to have a self-sufficient enterprise combining eco-tourism with environmentally friendly farming, including animals(sheep, goats and chickens, providing fresh eggs, dairy and meat), a vegetable garden, organic hay meadows and renewable fuel(firewood, hydro electric and solar powered energy).
The farmhouse has been renovated and divided into two, spacious, luxury apartments sympathetically restored and in keeping with the original building. Both Apartments are available for guests on a self- catering basis, or it can be part or fully catered from home produced farm delicacies.
There are many farm activities guests can take part in if they choose for example helping with the animals, harvesting, firewood preparation, gardening and fruit picking.
